It is Swedenborg\u2019s claim that angels and demons are not a separate class of being than humans. His claim is that angels and demons are all from the human race. This means that we are all angels or demons in the making.<\/p>\n
I like this idea. I like to think that I am becoming an angel, and dread the thought that I could be becoming a demon. I think we have tendencies to either here in the material world. I take comfort in Jesus\u2019 words, \u201c\u00a0Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. \u00a0For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light\u201d (Matthew 11:28-30). It reminds me of a line from that Gospel song, \u201cJust a few more weary days and then I\u2019ll fly away.\u201d I like to think I\u2019ll fly away, the burden of spirituality being easy and light. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
